The YWCA of Canberra Youth Services Unit provides programs and services, including outreach support, to young people aged 12 - 25 years.

The Youth Services Unit comprises SCOPE Youth Outreach Service based at Ainslie, and the Mura Lanyon Youth Centre and Youthlinx based at Conder and providing services for the Lanyon and Tuggeranong Valleys.

The Youth Services Unit embraces social justice and recognises the value, diversity and strengths of all young people. It provides services that encourage inclusive, safe, connected communities. Young people are the core of our work and valued members of, and participants in, our community. Our services promote personal resilience, leadership skills, participatory decision-making and strengthened personal networks for young people.

We work towards the following outcomes:

  • Young people are respected advocates on their own terms
  • Young people have the knowledge to make informed decisions
  • Young people are confident to explore options for now and the future
  • Young people access resources to meet their needs
  • Young people will actively participate in and contribute to their community.
