In Our Own Write

The YWCA of Canberra’s SCOPE Youth Service contributed to the AIDS Action Council of the ACT’s publication In Our Own Write, a collection of stories and poems and factual articles written by queer (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex) young people in the ACT.

This is an important resource bringing together the lives and stories of a continually marginalised group in the community while allowing the wider community a glimpse of the challenges, pains, joys and fears experienced by this group. The resource explores a number of topics including coming out, domestic violence, healthy relationships, negotiating and consent, and engaging with the community.
