Relationship Things “Step Up” wallet card

The Relationship Things "Step Up" wallet card is targeted at young men and has the specific aim of preventing young people contracting STIs and HIV. The “Step Up” wallet card draws on the respect theme that runs through the Relationship Things resources by promoting safe and respectful sexual relationships.

The wallet card has been developed in response to research that indicates that young heterosexual men are not practicing safe sex because they think they are not at risk and that the use of condoms is not their responsibility. Both of these issues are underpinned by gender inequality and the gender expectations placed on young men.
