The YWCA of Canberra offers an 8-week course for women interested in working with children.

The course is an introduction to professional child care.

The course involves obtaining five Nationally Accredited Competencies in partial completion of the Certificate III in Community Services (Children’s Services). It includes a hands-on work experience placement in a child care centre and provides an opportunity to complete a First Aid Certificate.

The course is run for 4 hours per day, 4 days per week for 8 weeks. The cost is $200 which includes the full course, training materials, work experience placement and on-going support.

For more information on when the next course will be held or to enrol in the course, please call Gordana Morphett on 02 6175 9900 or email training@ywca-canberra.org.au.

This course is funded by the ACT Government through the Strategic Priorities Program, Training and Education Branch.
