The STEPS program is and early intervention program which aims to educate, support and empower young pregnant and parenting women (aged 13-25) to develop their capacity and skills to improve the overall health and wellbeing of themselves and their children.  The program provides weekly workshops on the following topics:

  • positive parenting
  • healthy relationships
  • health and wellbeing
  • community and social connections.

The program is offered to young women throughout Canberra, and participants are welcome to join at any point throughout the program.

The program also provides additional support through a case management model.

Transport is provided where necessary. The cost is free. Lunch and child care on the premises are also provided free of charge.

For more information or to participate in the STEPS program please contact Claudia at the YWCA of Canberra on 6294 4633 or email Claudia.Lopez@ywca-canberra.org.au
