Why Online Mentoring?

Online mentoring is largely about convenience and lifestyle. Technology today allows us new options for communication and learning, and this can happen in a convenient way, at a convenient place and a convenient time. For some, online communication and learning has become a preference.

There are many reasons why an online approach to mentoring might suit many women.

  • Online Mentoring may suit women with small children or other caring responsibilities.
  • In our busy lives it is often hard to dedicate time for ourselves. The opportunity to conduct such a relationship online can be appealing as it does not require travelling time and can be a more productive use of the time you have.
  • Online Mentoring can be more convenient for those who work long or irregular hours and who cannot make time during the day to meet for a mentoring session.
  • An online approach to mentoring may simply be a lifestyle preference in this technological age.

Online Mentoring can also be an excellent starting point for a face-to-face mentoring relationship. You can develop your relationship in a secure environment at times that suit you best. Starting your relationship online means you can get to know your mentor or mentee in an environment where you feel comfortable.
